Krita is a software primarily designed for digital painting, but it can also be used for photo editing and vector image editing. Originally created for Linux as part of the KDE and included in the Calligra Suite, it became available for Windows in May 2014, maintaining all the features of the previous versions. The interface of Krita is influenced by Adobe products and other digital drawing applications like Corel, making it easy for Photoshop users to adapt to the program.
Among its features are a variety of brushes and strokes, layer support, compatibility with common image formats, cropping, vector editing, color palette management, and retouching tools. Perhaps the best aspect of Krita is that it is free software licensed under GNU, offering a high-quality alternative to GIMP, another popular free image editor.
